Is Peopoll safe? Who sees what, in plain words

Not in the way a secret ballot is, and we would rather say so than let you find out later. You sign in to use Peopoll, and your username is on every question you ask. When you answer someone else's poll, your answer is counted into the totals and never listed by name in the result. The person who asked is notified by username that you answered. And your profile has an Answered tab that shows the polls you have answered, which is public unless you hide it or make your account private.

So: your name on the question, not on the tally. The controls below let you decide how much of the rest is visible.

Private account: only people you approve can follow you and see your profile. Hide answered and liked polls: your profile stops showing them, to everyone. Block: they cannot see you, follow you or reach you, and you will not see them. Report: every poll, comment and profile has a report button, and reports are read by people. Change or remove a vote: any time, from the poll's menu.

Peopoll is for people 16 and over, and the app checks at sign-up. A profanity filter runs on questions and comments. Creators can mark a poll as sensitive, and sensitive polls are hidden behind a tap unless you choose to see them. There are rate limits on asking and commenting, so one account cannot flood the feed. There is no paid promotion: nobody can pay to move a number or to put a poll in front of you.

You can delete your account from inside the app, and there is a web form if you can no longer sign in. The privacy policy says what is collected and why in plain language; the short version is that Peopoll needs an account to count you once, and a gender, age bracket and country to show the splits, and does not sell any of it.
