About

How the idea came to life

Peopoll started around a kitchen table. A few friends were casually snacking, throwing questions at each other, and realizing something was missing. There was no single place to see what the world actually thinks, across any topic, in a way that feels fair and trustworthy.

So we built Peopoll. One app that captures the world's opinion through real participation, then turns it into simple insights people can actually use.

Why opinion is so hard to measure

Most of what the world thinks lives somewhere unmeasurable. It is scattered across comments, quote-tweets, podcasts, group chats and dinner tables. None of it adds up to an answer.

So if you genuinely want to know what people think, you have had two options, and both are bad. You can read anecdotes, which are loud, vivid and completely unrepresentative: the people who post are not the people who think. Or you can commission a survey, which is slow, expensive, and feels so artificial to fill in that response rates have been collapsing for years.

One of those gives you volume with no structure. The other gives you structure at a price and a pace that means you only ever ask the questions you can afford to ask.

What we think the answer is

Polling itself is not new. What is new is the combination of distribution and format. Traditional research fails because it feels like a chore. Social media fails because it is unstructured and performative, rewarding the loudest phrasing rather than the most common view.

Peopoll puts the two together: the speed of a feed you can move through in seconds, the structure of a real question with real answer options, and the curiosity that makes people want to know how they compare. Take something serious, remove the friction, and it stops being work.

Do that at enough scale and the result is not a series of polls. It is a continuously updating picture of what people think, broken down by country, age and gender, that can answer questions no one-off survey can: how fast opinion is shifting, which group moved first, and what the quiet majority thinks rather than only the loud minority.

What we are actually building

Social platforms are built around identity and performance. You post, and the reward is how the post is received. That shapes what gets said, and it is why the loudest opinion on any platform is so rarely the most common one.

Peopoll is built around revelation instead. You answer privately, and the reward is finding out where you sit: whether your view is the majority one, whether people your age agree with you, whether another country sees it completely differently. Nobody is performing, because there is nothing to perform.

Social media asked what you think. We are more interested in what we think.
